The Impact of Firms Determinants on the Listed Firm Performance: Evidence from the Karachi Stock Exchange

Abstract

Examining the determinants that impact the business performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam is the objective of this research. The study utilizes a cohort of one hundred construction-related companies that are publicly traded on the Vietnam Stock Market. The time series data for October 2020 is compiled by the author using financial statements and annual reports of construction companies listed in Vietnam. The information for the survey is collected through email and online resources. In addition, this study identifies the variables that impact the performance of Vietnamese businesses. The author processed data utilizing SPSS 20.0 and STATA 14.0%. The results of the study indicate that the business performance of construction-listed companies in Vietnam is influenced by the subsequent variables: (1) enterprise proprietor education level; (2) enterprise support policies implemented by the government; (3) company scale; (4) enterprise relationships with society; and (5) revenue growth rate. Further factors that contribute positively to the business performance of Vietnam Construction Listed Companies include the rate of revenue growth, government support policies, the educational attainment of company owners, the scope of the companies' operations, and their community relationships. In this context, the educational attainment of the owner and government assistance programs predominantly contribute positively to the company's success. In addition, the study's findings suggest that the educational attainment of business proprietors has the greatest impact on the profitability of publicly traded construction firms in Vietnam.
